Actions Indications

Vasodilator

Opens up peripheral circulation, in diabetes and good for cerebral circulation. Headaches, prophylactic for strokes, aids concentration, memory and learning process, esp. impaired cerebro-vascular circulation or mental deterioration due to aging, ringing in the ears due to poor circulation. Coronary deficiency with angina pectoris, paresthesia, poor vision, varicose veins

Antispasmodic

Asthma

Anti-inflammatory

Reduces prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis

Anti-fungal
Anti-biotic

Staphylococcus

Antagonists to PAF

Platelet activating factor (PAF), reduces clotting, Thrombosis

Anti-oedema

To decrease capillary permeability, prevent swelling, cerebral oedema

Antioxidant

Aging, premature senility, MS, support in breast and prostate cancer

 

Used in hyper active children, ADD +hydration

 

Herbal extract, 20-40mL per week

Energetics: Warming, drying, bitter, astringent, sweet

Meridians: heart, lung, kidney

Contraindications: Pregnancy, peptic and duodenal ulcers

Caution: too large a dose suppresses the digestive secretions

Surgical concerns: Risk of bleeding, especially when combined with other drugs that inhibit clotting

Recommendations: Discontinue at least 36 hours before surgery (use Arnica 30C 3 days before and after)
