Actions Indications

Hypoglycaemic

Hyperglycemias, Diabetes type II (late onset), increases numbers of Beta cells and size of the Islets of Langerhans. Potentiates the effects of insulin, and decreases gluconeogenesis

Galactagogue

Lack of breast milk, increases lactation see formula below;
10 aniseed, 15 fennel, 10 borage, 20 blessed thistle, 20mL goats rue Use 10 drops in warm water, ½hour before breast feeding

Anti-bacterial
Anti-viral

Chicken pox, shingles, HSV 1 and 2, Herpes virus

Anti-pyretic

Fevers

Anti-cholesterol

High cholesterol

Traditionally used by the Chinese for Tuberculosis

 

Herbal extract, 30-60mL per week

Energetics: Cooling, Bitter

Contraindications: Careful monitoring of blood glucose levels is required when treating diabetes
